Happy Scrappy Friends | No Patterned Paper

Welcome to the Happy Scrappy Friends blog hop! The post title already gives the theme right away but working with this challenges somehow wasn't straight forward for me this time.

You know when someone takes away something long forgotten? Something you didn't even bother much while you had it but then want to cling on to it for dear live? I felt a bit like that with this month's challenge. Folks, the struggle was real!

I'll let you have a "behind the scenes" look: We have this Facebook group for all of our Happy Scrappy Friends challenges to discuss and plan in advance for the next topics. When I went ahead to look up this August blog hop, my mind went completely blank. No patterned paper? Noooooooooo!!! Why didn't I try intervene in time? Yes, I can be a drama queen at times and these words came from a die-hard former stamp addict no less. And well, I took a look at my gallery images and quickly noticed, I do work without patterned paper. All. The. Time.

So there. This no patterned paper challenge took me back not only to my stamping roots but also to some long neglected stamp sets. I turned to a fairly traditional card-making style with just a few "up to date" touches in form of watercoloring, washi tape and tiny mist sprinkles.

Now, let's see how the other girls worked with the challenge, okay? Here's the blog hop list for you reference:

Happy blog hopping!
