Happy Scrappy Friends Blog Hop
Welcome to HSF May edition!! I have a bit of trouble getting a good translation for this month's theme, which is "matschen". Basically it's about getting your fingers dirty, playing with paint or any other medium you have in your stash.
What I had in my paint drawer for like a bit over a year and didn't get to properly use on a project where these nice quality Schmincke chalk pastels. Beautiful colors and I got them during a sale for pennies because tiny bits were broken off. Perfect for someone who wants to give them a try not knowing what they do :)
I die cut a piece of cream cardstock with my new Memory Box cross-stitch die (yay for spontaneous craft store trips!) and put on two different colors of the chalk, then literally used my fingers to spread and mix the colors. The effect is so nice! Like watercolor without getting your cardstock to bulge. On top of that, I also used a silkscreen mask with white acrylic paint, a yellow neon paint dauber from Hero arts as well as Mister Huey's spray paints.
A few bits of a Crate Paper die-cut pack and Studio Calico stamps finished the card off for me. Have you tried pastels yet? They're so easy to blend and work with!
Anyways, you should go and see what my fellow blog hoppers made - here's the full list for your reference:
Say "hi" to Dori from me and have a wonderful day, today!
