Cozy Winter Wishes Card
Folks, where did time go? I'm sure, I'm not telling you anything new here...
In the past week, I had the pleasure to work with Studio Calico Canyonland kits. I was asked on the message boards what my favorite item(s) are and I listed three things from different categories. High on top is a new "winter" die designed by Jasmine Jones. Her handwriting always gets me, no matter the product.
Also new (and no less pretty) is a doily craft die - for the pocket scrappers of you: yes, it fits a 3x4 pocket! I can't help but when I see/read doily, my mind automatically thinks "vintage". For this Creative Team gallery card, I wanted to challenge myself to keep it relatively clean and modern, however. I let you be the judge if I hit the target:
The black and white pattern paper in the card background is from the Canyonlands 4x6 paper pad. I then die-cut the doily from ruby color wool felt and "winter" from glittery paper. The latter is the new Kesi'Art Bling Bling paper by the way. So pretty! To complement the sentiment, I also masked and heat embossed "wishes" from the Winter Thank You stamp set onto vellum paper. The finishing touch was an enamel dot from SevenPaper's Felix collection.
I personally like the contrast of the cozy felt doily and cool glitter die-cut. The "frosty" vellum helps to transport the winter theme and the pattern on the background paper looks almost festive combined with the other items, don't you think?
I'll keep it to that one card for today. If you want to see more of my Creative Team cards, I invite you to visit my Canyonlands gallery at Studio Calico and please also go see the other girl's projects. I always find some inspiration there!
PS: The new Stationery kit came in late to the warehouse and wasn't included in my box this month. It really is a cute one, though (London Bus card anyone?!). Take a look!
