Happy Scrappy Friends | Sketch & Color Challenge

Welcome to a new installment of our Happy Scrappy Friends blog hop! This time Alexandra prepared a sketch for us and we decided to combine this with the challenge to use at least five different colors on hour craft project. First, I'm going to show you her sketch.

A good one, right? Lots of possibilities to work with and interpret this. My five colors came together more or less by chance. For one, I wanted to use just one patterned paper for the 4 x4 grid on the sketch to make the background look cohesive. Since I still had my Camelot kit out, I pulled the gray paper from it cut it into 1" square pieces, then pieced it back together on my card base.
For the title and focal point, I was inspired by an additional challenge: Another blog hopper, Nina, was invited to prepare something for the National Scrapbook Day crop at Studio Calico two weekends ago. She wanted us to be inspired by a previous SC classroom. My choice: Pop of the page with Jen Jokisch! This meant adding a few layers - unfortunately those covered almost the whole of the bottom row of squares later. Anyway, I found it only fitting to use some die-cuts from Jen's Lemon Lush line on my card so the red, blue and navy made an appearance.

Finally, to finish up the card, I added some embellishments and a cute thank you stamp on top of the label die-cut. Here's my final color combo if you want to use it for your own inspiration:
Your next stop on the hop is Dori. Thanks for visiting!
