Sorting Buttons by Color Since 1899
I'm kidding. On the year - not the sorting by color part but let's get to that later. First, some more cards from the Studio Calico Office Hours kit, k?
I've shown you my cards with the main kit a few days ago and this time it's all about card add-on Watercooler. For the first card I want to show you, I cut two strips of patterned paper and adhered them to the card, then added my stamped sentiment right above in Versamark Onyx Black (hands down, my fave black ink to date).
The flower came together by rolling and twisting the left-over pink ribbon from the card main kit around my thumb. When I was finished, I added some Tiny Attacher staples here and there on the back so the ribbon doesn't unwind. One of the gorgeous buttons included in Watercooler, glued down with a foam dimensional circle forms my flower center. The leafs were hand-cut from patterned paper.
The second card for today is super clean and simple. Something that practically everyone can recreate! I simply punched eight 1" circles, two each from a paper design in Watercooler, and glued them down diagonally. I noticed that the "thank you" stamp in the add-on stamp set fits perfectly on two circles and stamped that again with the Versafine black ink. To add just a little something, I machine stitched two arrows across the top row of circles so that the eye is drawn to the sentiment. Three clear stars finished everything off.
Easy peasy, isn't it? Now you want to hear about the button sorting, right? I received some SC Color Theory buttons in the mail and for whatever reasons I had to sort and line up the gorgeousness :)
I just love to look at this! Want to make a button rainbow of your own? Today might be the perfect day to grab some buttons (or inks or enamel dots or alphabet stickers) in the SC shop! The Studio Calico headquarters is snowed in so the peeps decided on a special offer in anticipation of spring.
Being an international, this sounds like an amazing deal. My favorite of the new color items? Platinum sequins, Mint Hint sequins and pink enamel dots. I will stock up on these tonight with the free shipping code ^^ And if you do, too, who knows, a card add-on may hop in your card as well?
