Studio Calico Blue Note Kits Revealed
Happy Reveal Day! The Creative Team gallery is already up for you to see and subscribers are able to shop, so I thought it fitting to get my cards posted right away here, too. If you love pretty stamps and contrasting colors -
Blue Note kits are made for you! Here are my sample cards for the gallery:
This one was made with just the main card kit. It was actually the first card I made just so I don't fall into the trap of hoarding the pretty fabric flowers. I may have developed an obsession for silver metallic thread (the brand is Guetermann) along the way, too, and I didn't even use it for sewing but to create those fancy loops you see under the button.
Talking about vellum, how about this little number above? I embossed the card add-on stamps in white onto vellum and backed this layer with a pretty grey snowflake paper, then sandwiched some white star sequins in-between for a shaker card. Seriously, I tried to keep it all white and soft grey, yet, at the last minute add some color paper strips from the card main. It just felt more "me". KWIM?
I'm a little pressed for time this month but hope to make a few more cards with these kits, so please check back in a few days. If you want to check what the other creative team members made this month, please, head
this way to view the entire Blue Note gallery - you certainly won't regret it :)
Bye for now and Happy Thanksgiving to my US readers!

This one could be a personal favorite from the ones I made with the kit. Mama Elephant is rocking the kit stamps again this month and I couldn't be more thrilled with this birthday stamp since one of my besties is a fun-loving December birthday girl - the sentiment is perfect for her! Supply-wise, I've mixed the
main card kit,
more color cardstock (the icy mint - gorgeous!) and the
card add-on Cole but also used some
Mister Huey Calico Shine and
vellum for that frosted, layered look.

For this next card, I again used the tree stamps from
card add-on Cole. I'm amazed by the stamp detail, both stamped and embossed. The technique with the stamping on top and beneath the sentiment mat is really fun, I think, I'll give that another go sometime.
This last card for today, could be a nice and lightweight (thus, easily mailable) holiday card. I stamped the baubles from scrapbook add-on Holiday using a white ink, then found that the rubons from the same kit perfectly fit the shape of the stars on the baubles. I placed some on top of the stamped image then some more randomly around. The sentiment is from the
main card kit, stamped with
Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink and embossed with
clear embossing powder.
